I’m an accountant in a construction firm. I was working with Ronald, a colleague, when the earthquake hit Haiti on January 12. The earth heaved, and the building shuddered. Ronald dashed toward the door as the concrete ceiling crumbled, but I wasn’t fast enough. Huge pieces of concrete trapped me in a box-like space like a coffin. I knew that at any moment the weight might shift and crush me. More
